WILDURB AFTER WORK WALK  - vol. 01

On Monday I made an effort to join the very first AFTER WORK WALK, organized by Wildurb that great company/community I already told you about on this blog. It was a great little event, hosted by Bella, a passionate "URB" who guided us - more or less  along the "Stadtwanderweg" through the Prater Allee...

To me, still a newbie to Vienna, this was an amazing insight in how green Vienna is just a few steps away from the very busy, and not so attractive Prater Stern. It was great to see that  "URBS" who joined the event on Facebook, did turn up in "reality" as well. Although we'll have to work on those numbers. It was 17 "going" - at the actual event we were 7 walkers... joined by Nicolas - a "WALK IN" - who happily joined our little walking community along the way...

If anyone out there is interested in the "Walking topic" - and I guess you would be, why would you read this otherwise - I'd suggest you like them on facebook here to join the community and be up to date with their work... and walks :-)

I'll be definitely trying to join the next Event again!

BARE FOOT WALK ALONG THE "WIEN RIVER"...

The cool people from WILD URB came up with a wonderful idea to contribute to the European Mobility Week: A barefoot Walk along the Wien River from Hietzing to Hütteldorf was guided on September 17th.

On a wonderful sunny evening a few keen (barefoot) walkers met at the Kennedy Brücke in Hietzing to put their feet into the refreshing water - but more so to walk a few kilometres together. Once again I realised how the simple act of walking is something that connects people. Below a few impressions :-)

Check out my tours on offer.

By now I created three interesting tours around the coast- and bushland of Sydney's Eastern suburbs.
You can find them on this website in the walking tours section.

I am inviting you to see this amazing city from a different perspective. Discover your destination while walking - it is like meditation and I will guarantee you that it is an unique experience.

The "Coast to Bush" tour is still free on Fridays. Check out the pictures and details of the tour here on my page, and then don't hesitate and join me to check it out!

I am a walker. In 2003 an 800 kilometer journey on foot made me realize how far I can get with "simply walking".
In 2013 I finished a 100 kilometers trailwalker challenge within 35 hours. It was for a good cause. It made me realize  in another way, how far we can get with the simple act of walking.
