There is nothing like walking to get the feel of a country.
A fine landscape is like a piece of music; it must be taken at the right tempo.
Even a bicycle goes too fast.
-Paul Scott Mowrer
There is more to "walkability" then just venturing out on your own feet - the simple exercise of renouncing your car or other "fast" means of transport will unearth a whole new life experience for you. Famous writers and poets way back in time already implored the amazing effects of walking on our bodies, brains and souls. Today Walkability.com.au helps you to rediscover the sustainable benefits of walking for our environment and your personal well-being. Topped off by experiencing your amazing city from a different perspective.
About me:
Hi, I'm Silvia. Born and bred in Austria, spending time on my feet hiking and walking has always been a great passion of mine. In addition to years of back country skiing in winter and mountain hiking in summer, I also spent a month walking 800 kilometers on a pilgrimage, with the purpose of crossing northern Spain on the "Camino Santiago" from the Pyrenees to the Western End "Cape Finisterre". Another personal walking accomplishment was my participation in the Sydney "Oxfam Trailwalker 2013" , a 100 km team fundraising challenge to fight poverty.
My husband and I arrived in Australia some seven years ago for a bit of an adventure before settling down back at home in Austria. Little did I know that from the day I set foot on Sydney grounds, I would fall hopelessly in love with this city, it's amazing harbor, national parks and it's coastal suburbs of the east.
With Walkability.com.au I want to share my love for walking and offer you an unique and sustainable Sydney experience! No matter if you are tourist, new in town or local, I'll help you find your feet in Sydney.
