Help! Believe it or not I have somehow committed myself to:

A) Hiking 100km non-stop through the rugged bush (that’s 30-48 hours hiking without sleep)!
B) Raising at least $1000 for Oxfam!

Commitment A means every week I am hiking from early morning all day and sometimes nights through the bush as a team training event – if the training doesn’t kill me then the event will probably finish me off.

Commitment B is the reason I’m sending you this email.

I need to find 100 friends to donate at least $10 each.  OK, so I probably don’t have 100 friends ( ... I’m hoping 1 or 2 of you are very generous types). But I do often think about emailing/calling/visiting you, being nice to your husband/wife/mother/dog/cat and sending you birthday cards! And it’s the thought that counts, right?

Convinced? Great! Simply click on the link below and donate  as much as you like (even 10 Dollars or 5 Euros are a great contribution already, but of course feel free to donate 100 – don’t forget, it’s tax deductible!)

Not convinced? OK, to unsubscribe to my regular updates, simply donate $50 by clicking on the link below… :)

Putting my shameless begging aside, Oxfam Australia is a really great charity (the money gets to the people who need it) and they are helping people living in poverty around the world, including indigenous Australia. So you can feel really great about donating your $50 to help us out.

Here’s the link to my team’s web page with a bit of news about our efforts so far. Just click on the “DONATE” link if you can help us out:

Thanks for your generous support!

I am a walker. In 2003 an 800 kilometer journey on foot made me realize how far I can get with "simply walking".
In 2013 I finished a 100 kilometers trailwalker challenge within 35 hours. It was for a good cause. It made me realize  in another way, how far we can get with the simple act of walking.
